Taitung County Police Bureau Hosts Calligraphist Lin Wei-ke to Hold “Brush Strokes of Rivers and Mountains” Ink, Oil and Watercolor Exhibition

In an effort to improve the environment at the Taitung Police Bureau as well as enhance people’s identity with the what the bureau contributes to the public, the bureau has invited calligraphist Lin Wei-ke to exhibit his work in an exhibition called “Brush Strokes of Rivers and Mountains” in the art gallery located on the second floor of the Taitung County Police Bureau from March 11 to June 30. This exhibition is being held to encourage people to learn to appreciate of oil, ink and watercolor painting by traveling through the world of rivers and mountains in Lin’s work, bringing new thoughts, aesthetic and knowledge of culture to those who come and see it.

Commissioner Chen Shu-tian of the Taitung County Police Bureau stated that in an effort to liven up the bureau gallery, they began inviting local, big names to exhibit there in 2012, receiving praise and affirmation from both outsiders and bureau workers alike. This time, Lin Wei-ke has been invited to show his work as Commissioner Chen highly esteems Lin’s work. Through Lin’s world of rivers and mountains, one can get a taste of beautiful scenery and experience its magnificence. Also, that feeling is a good representation of the character of police bureau officials, namely, an open mind, courage, integrity and concern for others. Holding such an exhibition is a great way to give the police bureau some color and a new look inside and out. Besides wanting to give visitors to the police bureau an all-new experience, people can also learn to appreciate painting and increase their aesthetic sense by taking a trip through Lin’s world.
